Nick Macris (AKA Nicolaos Makrionitis) of North Babylon, Aged 85 years. Nick was born on Nov 29, 1930 in Athens Greece. Beloved husband of Erika (nee Feuchtner) married for 62 years. Adored father of Julia (Michael T. Collins). Cherished grandfather of John(Emma) and Michael..
Nick was owner of Elite Jewelry of West Islip, where he and his daughter, Julia designed and created beautiful pieces of costume jewelry.

Nick became a Naturalize American Citizen, proudly serving in the US Army as a Military Police Office, where he met his beautiful wife Erica. A union that lasted 62 years.
He was a Korean War Veteran.

Nick was associated with the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars where he was the Past Commander of the Deer Park Chapter of the VFW.

Nick had so many interests, he was very involved in the Greek Organization of the AHEPA serving as Past District Governor, he was a Ham Radio Operator, founder of the Suffolk County half Marathon, a past member of the Long Island Rough Riders Soccer Team, and the Suffolk County Conservative Party of Long Island committee county board member

Nick led an incredible life growing up in Greece, traveling the world, but he made roots here in New York. Living life to the fullest, he was so very proud of his grandsons John & Michael and the men they have become. He will be missed as the Patriarch of the Collins/Monteforte Families and by so many other “Families” that he was a important part of, BUT will never be forgotten.
