Our History

Our History

Mangano Funeral Homes, Inc. has been serving Deer Park, Middle Island and Riverhead area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

A Family Heritage of Service

Back in the early 1900s, when a person died, the service was conducted at home. And most funeral directors had more than one line of work, such as carpentry, furniture, or cabinet making. It was at this time that Guy Mangano began serving the families of Brooklyn as a full-time funeral director from a storefront office on Union Street.

Over the years, families welcomed the Mangano's caring, compassionate service in their time of need. In the early 1960's the Mangano Family opened Suffolk County's finest funeral home in Deer Park. This Location serves families of Deer Park, North Babylon, Dix Hills, Melville, Huntington Station, Bay Shore, West Islip, Babylon, West Babylon, Wyandanch and Wheatley Heights.

Guy's sons, James & Guy Jr. joined their father in the family business. At that time, both sons assumed responsibility for operating the firm. Guy Jr.'s daughter, Barbara, joined the family business in 1965. Barbara's son Sal joined the family business in 2000. The Mangano heritage of service and commitment to the community is available to all the families of Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and the greater NY metro area.

In 2012, The Mangano Family purchased The Giove Funeral Home in Middle Island. This location was built to be Suffolk County's premier funeral home serving Ridge, Middle Island, Yaphank, Calverton, Coram, Gordon Heights, Miller Place, Sound Beach, Medford, Rocky Point, and Wading River.

In 2015, The Mangano Family purchased the Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home from the Alexander Family. This funeral home was built in the early 1900's and is the premier funeral home of the North Fork of Long Island. This funeral home is located in Downtown Riverhead and caters to the families in Riverhead, Flanders, Calverton, Wading River, Ridge, Jamesport, Aquebogue and The Hamptons.

Over the generations, the commitment to the heritage of Guy Mangano has never changed - providing the utmost in caring, personal service to the families of our area. That's why we continue to be the most preferred funeral establishment in Suffolk County.
