Obituary for John M. Rappold John M. Rappold, age 66, of Yaphank, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Stony Brook University Hospital, surrounded by his family. John was born January 22, 1952 in Jamaica, New York to Dorothy and Carl Rappold. He was raised in Yaphank, New York with his siblings, Carol, Carl, Robbie, and Maureen, where his passion for nature, adventure, and wildlife developed and his friendships deepened. In 1973, John began a family in the hometown he loved, having his four children that he adored, Jason, Tina, Kelly, and Jennifer. Yaphank is also where he met the love of his life, Gladys Rech, with whom he would happily spend the rest of his days. He was also an amazing and proud Grandfather to Kylee, Michael, Madison, Anthony, Tyler, Josh, Mason and Aiden and Great-Grandfather to Hadlee. John was the best Father-in-Law, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Godfather, and Friend anyone could ask for. His legacy of his boyish smile, love for life, and selflessness will live on eternally.
