Kathleen Jean Anthony

November 28, 1947 — March 7, 2016

Kathleen Jean Anthony, a long time resident of South Jamesport, NY passed away peacefully at her home on March 7th, 2016. Predeceased by her parents, Jean and Gus Gillen and her brother Douglas, Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Lee, and their three children, Heather and her wife Traci, her sons Jason and Todd. Family was everything to Kathy. A special education teacher for many years, Kathy spent most of her career in the Riverhead Central School District. In her retirement, she and Lee drove cross country together to see America. She taught arts & crafts to homemakers, made jewelry and painted with acrylics & oils. Kathy had recently started to use water colors. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 10th, 2016 at the Tuthill - Mangano Funeral Home, Inc. from 2-6 pm. A repast meal at the Jamesport Fire Department on Manor Lane, Jamesport will take place at 6:30 pm. Funeral mass will be held at The Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church, Mattituck on Friday, March 11th, 2016 at 10 am - followed by a cremation & interment to be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Stony Brook University Cancer Center's Research of Blood Cancers in Kathleen's name to: Stony Brook Cancer Center Advancement, HSC Level 4 Room 172, Stony Brook, NY 11794-8430. Family and friends are kindly requested to please meet at the church on Friday at 9:45 am for the 10:00 am service, there will be no services at the funeral home on Friday morning.
