Marta Alarcón De Garcia

January 5, 1949 — March 24, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Marta De Jesus Alarcon De Garcia announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the age of 73.

Marta will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Cesar Augusto Garcia, her children, Elmer Garcia, Maria Garcia, and Cesar A. Garcia; her grandchildren, Elmer Garcia, Jr., Marelly Velasquez Garcia, Aiden Garcia, Angel Garcia, and Bianca Roman Garcia; her sister, Teresa Orozco Alarcon; her brothers, Francisco Orozco Alarcon and Luis Arturo Orozco Alarcon; her cousins, nephews and nieces, and the countless friends and lives Marta has touched throughout her life.

Marta is predeceased by her father, Petronilo Orozco; her mother, Maria Alarcon; and her brother, Octavio Orozco.

Marta was a lover of food, “lobster and king crab,” the color lilac, laughing, cooking, her family, friends and, above all, her faith. To know Marta is to have laughed with or to have shared a kind word, whether a close friend or stranger. Being humbly social was a special gift upon which Marta was bestowed; those around her were drawn to her infectious and cheerful personality. Marta was a wonderful sister and surrogate mother to many. Selflessness and generosity were two traits that highlighted her personality. Marta touched the lives of so many people in such a short amount of time; she was able to accomplish much before her untimely passing.

Marta was a hard worker, resilient figure in the face of adversity and person who provided exemplary effort. Marta had an unassuming and disarming smile that could put anyone at ease; from newborns to the elderly, everyone was Marta’s friend. Her sense of humor was second to none and she was as compassionate as she was funny. Even when ill, Marta was never angry, sad, or depressed – she would find comfort in her faith of the Lord. Marta was so special. She represented the good that we all need every day in our lives. She was one of a select few who could actually rise to meet challenges with a smile.

If you knew her, you were blessed; if she knew you, you were loved.

Please join Marta’s family in celebrating her life on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Park. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
