Mary E. Leddy

Mary (Maureen) O’Neill Leddy passed away peacefully on October 20th at the age of 91. Maureen was the beloved wife of the late John P. Leddy and loving mother to John J. Leddy MD (Adriana Alvarez MD), Mary Jo Leddy Volkert (George), James Leddy (Kristen McLaughlin), Thomas Leddy (Valentina Castro), and Jennifer Leddy Poma (Eric). She was a cherished grandmother to ten grandchildren. Maureen was always an active member of her Roman Catholic parishes. In the 1970s, as a member of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal in Wyandanch, NY, she ran their holiday food baskets program, assisted with fund-raising fashion shows and was a member of the Board of Directors for Resurrection House, a shelter for homeless families. Later, Maureen became a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church in Deer Park, NY, where she was part of a daily mass and rosary group. She travelled through Europe on Marian Pilgrimages and considered it her duty to help the poor and gave to many charities throughout her life.
