Thalia A. Cooper

December 16, 1949 — June 28, 2020

On Sunday June, 28th, Thalia A. Cooper lost her long battle with cancer. Thalia of Riverhead, formerly of Canarsie, was born December 16th, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to Rose Yannotti and Walter Cooper. Thalia graduated from Canarsie High School in 1967, and went on to have a career as an administrative assistant. Thalia loved the little things in life. She enjoyed spending holidays with her family, especially Christmas, Thalia was a devout Catholic, and attended mass regularly. As a young adult, Thalia loved playing softball with her many friends. Throughout her life, Thalia crocheted many blankets for her family and donated blankets to local nursing homes. She enjoyed watching hockey, and was an avid NY Rangers fan. Thalia was extremely generous and gave all she could, often times more than she could. She loved life, family, and friends - Thalia was everybody's Aunt. While Thalia did not have children of her own, she was actively involved in the lives of her many nieces and nephews. Thalia Cooper was devoted to her family. You could always count on her to be present at her family's events. Thalia is survived by her beloved sister Parthia and brother in-law Carmine Lombardi. Cherished Aunt of Thomas Farrell, Maureen and Thomas Knapp, Michael Lombardi and Matthew Bowden. Great Aunt to Katherine and Thomas Plitsch, Monica, Thomas, and Patrick Knapp. Great Great Aunt to Ellie Plitsch. She will be greatly missed.
