Valerie T. Buchbinder

April 18, 1947 — December 3, 2019

Valerie Buchbinder (née Ianniello) passed away in New Jersey on December 3, 2019 at the age of 72.
Valerie was born on April 18, 1947 to the late Janet (née Fusco) and Frank Ianniello. From an early age she knew she wanted to become a hairstylist and pursued her dream from the time she was in her teens. She worked in the hair industry for over 50 years and had many loyal clients and friends. Later in life, she also discovered a passion for real estate, and worked hard to begin a second career and develop another network of people who trusted her eye, taste and honesty.
Valerie married the late Gary Buchbinder in 1976 and raised their family in Bellmore, NY and Dix Hills, NY. There was nothing more important to her than their four children and nine grandchildren. Her home was the meeting place for every holiday and she threw a great party. She believed in ‘going big or going home’, so every event was filled with tons of food, drinks, and creative touches. She was a generous person, who would open her doors to anyone in need. Valerie would do anything for her kids, whether it was helping them move, babysitting for their children, picking them up in another state when their car broke down or telling them what they needed to hear, instead of what they wanted to hear. She loved Days of our Lives, doing word puzzles, crafting and spending time with her loved ones. She recently retired and moved to Mooresville, NC with her son and grandchildren.
Valerie is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Chris) Terranova, son Joseph (Lori) Buchbinder, son Jamie Buchbinder, son Michael (Carolyna) Buchbinder, grandchildren Alexa, Ava, Viviana, Emma, Ethan, Evan, Eli, Jackson & Joseph and brother, Conrad Ianniello.
She will be remembered daily and missed beyond measure.
