Ada Cuello

Ada Cuello, a beloved matriarch, passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 101 in Coram, New York. Born on October 4, 1923, in Barahona, Dominican Republic, Ada dedicated her life not only to her work with the garment industry, but also to nurturing a loving family that will carry forward her legacy.

Ada was married to the late Marcelino Cuello, whose life she helped enhance greatly, in both his plantation for work, and at home. She was the proud mother of her 5 children: the late William Cuello, and daughters Minerva Clark and her husband Robert, Esther Garcia and her husband Gregorio, her son Maximo Cuello, and her son Angel Luis Cuello and his wife Aura. Always the guiding force in their lives, Ada's nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped the character of her children and instilled in them values of hard work and kindness. In addition to her immediate family, Ada enjoyed the love of her 18 grandchildren: Rosa, Robert, Raymond, Frances, Miguel Angel, Ada, Mildred, Alexandra, Juan Carlos, Maximo, Gregorio, Dalisa, Ricky, Andres, Bryant, Angelica and Angel Jr., each of whom brought joy to her heart and were recipients of her wisdom and warmth. She furthermore was beloved by her numerous great-grandchildren, among whom are Katelyn, Michael, Brielle, Anthony, Solangy, Alberangy, Juan, Michelle, Adelyn, Tatyana, Jacquelyn, Wilson, Eudy, Yelenis, Jasmin, Raymond Jr., Ryan, and Adam. She is also survived by her brother Julio Cesar Cuello, who along with her children and grandchildren, will continue to honor and celebrate the rich tapestry of memories that Ada created throughout her life. Ada was predeceased by her parents, Agustin Alfonso and Ana Cuello, and her sisters Celestina Cuello Alfonso and Luisa Cuello. The loss of these loved ones touched her deeply, but Ada's resilience and spirited personality always shone through.

Friends and family will gather to pay their respects and celebrate Ada's remarkable life during visitations at Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953, on September 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A prayer service will be held on September 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Ada will be laid to rest following the services at the funeral home at Washington Memorial Park, in Mount Sinai, NY.

Ada Cuello's legacy as a devoted seamstress, loving mother, and remarkable grandmother will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends.
