Aderemi Ogundiran, born on March 12, 1959, in Nigeria, passed away on September 20, 2024, in New York, NY. Aderemi was a devoted principal at the Bronx Charter School for Better Learning, where he dedicated his life to shaping young minds and fostering an enriching educational environment. His passion for education was matched only by his commitment to his family and community.
Aderemi’s dedication to education was underscored by his academic achievements, having received a Doctorate in Psychology, further solidifying his commitment to lifelong learning. He instilled in others the importance of knowledge and personal growth, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire generations.
Aderemi a loving husband to his wife of 30 years, Kikelomo, and a cherished father to his daughters, Ogundoyin and Ogundunni. He was remembered not only as a wonderful provider but also as a mentor who profoundly impacted the lives of those around him. He was also a beloved brother, uncle and friend. Aderemi possessed a great sense of humor and a caring personality that made him a beloved figure among students and colleagues alike. He was also an avid gardener and had a deep appreciation for music and walking, activities that brought him great joy and relaxation. His culinary skills were nothing short of legendary in his household, often delighting family and friends with the best eggs and serving as a teacher of cooking to those eager to learn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Titilayo and Alari Ogundiran, who provided a strong foundation of love and support throughout his life.
Visitation services will take place on September 27, 2024, at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass celebrating his life will be held on September 28, 2024, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church in Deer Park, starting at 10:15 AM. Following the mass, family and friends will proceed to Pinelawn Memorial Park, where Aderemi will be laid to rest.
Aderemi Ogundiran will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, wisdom, and infectious spirit will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
