America Rodriguez, beloved by family and friends, passed away on July 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication that touched all who had the privilege to know her. Born on December 29, 1933 to her parents Candido and Isabel, America lived a rich and meaningful life, shaped by her deep devotion to her family and her unwavering spirit.
America was predeceased by her husband The Late Jesus Rodriguez in 2013. Together they created a loving family. America was the cherished mother of Orlando Rodriguez, Beverly and her husband Richard Leonard, Vivian and her husband Edwin Matta, and Elizabeth and her husband Anthony Gonzalez. Her home was a center of warmth and compassion, where her children grew under the strength of her guidance and care.
She was a proud grandmother to Andrew (Lauren), Matthew (Caitlin), Alexander (Kimberly), and Julianna (Mason), each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. America’s nurturing influence reached even further to her great-grandchildren: Ella, Jake, Jocelyn, Teddy, and Elanor. Her presence will forever be felt in their hearts and in the stories passed down through generations.
Throughout her years, America carried herself with grace, imparted wisdom, and faced life’s joys and challenges with courage. Through all seasons, America created a loving foundation—a place of refuge, laughter, and support—for all who gathered around her.
Family and friends will come together to honor America Rodriguez’s life and legacy at several services. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. A Prayer Service will take place at the same location on the evening of July 8, beginning at 7:00 p.m. America will be laid to rest at Mount Saint Mary's Cemetery in Flushing, NY on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
America’s life was one filled with love, perseverance, and devotion. She leaves behind a powerful legacy—one built on family, strong values, and a heart that welcomed many. She will be dearly missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished by all whose lives she touched.
