Anthony L. Panno

Anthony L. Panno, born on January 27, 1931, to his parents Emanuele and Maria, passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 95. His long and meaningful life leaves behind a legacy of dedication, service, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Anthony's journey began with the completion of his high school education. Early in adulthood, Anthony answered the call to serve his country as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. His time in the Marines stood as a testament to his courage, discipline, and deep sense of duty. Following his military service, Anthony devoted his career to the NYC Transit Authority, where he worked his way up from conductor to motorman. 

Anthony cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian, who remained his steadfast companion through their 68 years of married life. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Carrol McMorrow (Michael) and Maria Adams (Paul), each of whom brought him endless pride and joy. The bond Anthony shared with his four grandchildren (John, Brandon, Ryan, Dylan) and three great-grandsons enriched his later years, bringing warmth and laughter.

Those who knew Anthony remember him as a man of principle, generosity, and a wonderful sense of humor who loved a round of golf, betting the horses and a scratch off or two.

To honor and celebrate Anthony’s well-lived life, visitation will be held on July 30, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home at 7:30 pm that same evening.

Anthony L. Panno will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on within the hearts of those who loved him and the community he served.
