Anthony J. Pattay, a cherished member of his family and community, was born on November 12, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Joseph and Violet Pattay. He dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to the New York City Housing Authority.
Anthony was a man of many passions. He found joy in cruising and traveling, often seeking the beauty of new landscapes and experiences. His love for the outdoors led him on memorable hunting trips for turkey and deer, where he treasured the quiet moments surrounded by nature. Known for his culinary skills, Anthony was a great cook whose meals brought warmth and comfort to those around him, especially the Italian food. Most importantly, he was devoted to his family, always placing their happiness at the forefront of his heart.
As a proud member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Anthony celebrated his Italian heritage with immense pride. His loving nature and patient spirit made him an incredible father, grandfather, and husband. He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Pattay, his sons Steven Pattay and his wife Elizabeth, Jason Pattay and his wife Christina, and his daughter Catherine Carruthers and her husband Paul. Anthony's legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Victoria, Marcus, Dominic, and Paul Anthony.
The memory of Anthony will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His incredible character and deep commitment to his loved ones illustrate a life well-lived. As we gather to honor his legacy, we are reminded of the love and joy he spread throughout his time on Earth.
Visitation services for Anthony will take place on January 30, 2026, at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc. in Deer Park, New York, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass will be held on January 31, 2026, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church in Deer Park, starting at 10:30 AM.
Though he has departed from this world on January 27, 2026, the legacy of Anthony J. Pattay will live on through the countless memories he created and the love he shared.
