Arthur L. Hartley

Arthur Leon Hartley was born on May 3, 1945, New York, New York, the seventh of eight children, fourth son of Stuyvesant and Marion Hartley.

He was educated  at the Port Jefferson School District, graduating  from Earl L. Vandermeulen  High School in 1963.

 

Arthur enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas.

 

Arthur was a learned man and obtained various degrees from local universities.

He was a man with a calm spirit who visited with famIly on occasion to share birthday or holiday wishes. He enjoyed music and was known to sing a song or two when the urge hit him. Arthur loved to walk and usually could be heard whistling a tune along his journey.

 

Arthur was called from labor to reward on Sunday, May 14, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his brothers; Stuyvesant(Junior),Raymond(Doc)and Richard.

He leaves to cherish his memory his four sisters; Marion Tucker, Bernice Newsom, Frances Dykes, Elaine Archie and a host of nieces and nephews.
