Barbara Anne Podlas

Barbara Anne Podlas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2023 in her Aquebogue residence surrounded by loved ones at the age of 80.

Born on August 31st, 1942 in Greenport, N.Y., Barbara was the daughter of the late Adam and Anna (Polywoda) Doroski. Throughout her life, Barbara exemplified resilience, kindness, and dedication to her family and career. She will forever be remembered as a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Barbara's exceptional career spanned several decades at First American Title Insurance Company. Her diligence and expertise earned her the position of Vice President before she retired. She was widely respected by colleagues for her work ethic, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to perfection.

Outside of her professional life, Barbara embraced every moment spent with her cherished family. She shared a beautiful journey with her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Sr. They walked through life hand and hand, faced the good times as well as the bad times together, and built a home filled with love and treasured memories.

Barbara was a devoted mother to the late Michelle Tenhet of Holly Ridge, N.C., Thomas Podlas Jr. of Little Falls, N.Y., and Kevin Podlas and his wife Joyce of Riverhead, N.Y.

In addition to being survived by her husband and two sons, she leaves behind eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother Adam, and a sister Patricia, whose lives were all enriched by their bond. Their shared experiences created precious memories that will be cherished for generations.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation services honoring Barbara's life. The visitation will take place on Sunday, July 9th, 2023 at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901. The first session of visitation will begin at 2:00 PM and conclude at 4:30 PM. The second session of visitation will commence at 7:00 PM and conclude at 9:30 PM.

A Mass in celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Monday, July 10th, 2023 at Our Lady Of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church located at 3300 Depot Ln, Cutchogue, NY 11935. The Mass will commence at 11:00 AM.

Barbara will forever occupy a special place in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering support will continue to inspire others as they navigate their own paths in life. May her soul find eternal peace as she reunites with her parents, her sister Honey, and her daughter Michelle in the hereafter.
