Benedict T. Azzaro, III

August 6, 1956 — July 6, 2025

Bay Shore, NY

Benedict T. Azzaro, III, a devoted servant of his community and cherished family member, left this world on July 6, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on August 6, 1956, in Bay Shore, New York, Benedict was the embodiment of love, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.

As a craftsman with Local 157 in New York, he built not just structures but also a legacy of hard work and dedication. His hands, calloused from labor yet gentle with a reassuring touch, shaped both homes and hearts. He was deeply respected for his skills, and equally revered for his character. More than a carpenter, he was a pillar in the community, always ready to lend a hand or an ear, exemplifying what it meant to be there for everyone.

Benedict served valiantly as a volunteer fireman for the Bay Shore Fire Department, a role that reflected his resolute spirit and commitment to protecting his neighbors. He answered the call to duty time and again, embodying courage and camaraderie, traits that defined his life’s work and personal relationships.

He is remembered fondly by his loving spouse, Katrina Lynn Azzaro (Nee: Olsen), whose companionship brought him joy and strength. His vibrant spirit continues through his father, Benedict Azzaro, Sr., and the close bond he shared with his sister Patricia and her husband Richard Bory. The laughter and warmth of many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins also surround his memory, each carrying their own treasured stories of moments shared.

Benedict’s unyielding kindness and caring nature forged deep connections. His friends recall his friendly demeanor, an aura of positivity that lit up every room he entered. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him understood that his love was unending—he touched lives in ways both big and small, creating a remarkable tapestry of memories that will forever echo in their hearts.

His beloved mother, Carmela Azzara (nee: Cona), though already departed, will forever carry him in spirit, a bond transcending even the finality of life.

As we gather to pay homage to this extraordinary man, there will be visitation on July 13, 2025, from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY, followed by a firematic service at 7:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to unite in celebrating a life that was truly a gift to all who knew him.

Benedict T. Azzaro, III leaves behind a legacy colored with affection, generosity, and a profound understanding of the importance of community. In the hearts he touched, he lives on—forever remembered, forever loved.
