Catherine A. Ciurleo

Catherine A. Ciurleo, whose warmth and love touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on November 29, 1925, in Brooklyn, New York to her parents Vincenzo and Angelina. Catherine was a beacon of light to her family and friends throughout her life.

A proud graduate with a high school diploma, Catherine embodied a life rich in tradition and deep-rooted values. As a lifelong member of Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, her faith was an essential part of her daily existence, guiding her actions and shaping her relationships.

Catherine's personality shone brightly through her many talents and cherished beliefs. Known as a great cook, she delighted her loved ones with her culinary skills and embodied the motto, "Save room for dessert," reflecting her sweet tooth and love for treats. Her meticulous nature earned her the affectionate title of a "clean freak," ensuring her home was not only tidy but a welcoming sanctuary for family gatherings. She had a special way of bringing people together, often using the endearing term "Bubelah" when addressing those she cherished.

Catherine is survived by her loving family, including her sons George and his wife Maria, Michael and his wife Janet, and Robert Ciurleo. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Andrea and her husband Michael, Amanda and her husband Gregory, Heather and her husband Steve, Michael and his wife Lindsey, along with Matthew and Julia. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Alex, Leo, Oliver, Emmett, Arthur, Brody, and Jack, each of whom lit up her life. Catherine is also survived by her loving brother, John Toscano.

Visitation services will be held at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY, where family and friends can gather to honor Catherine's remarkable life. The visitation will take place on October 29, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM and again on October 30, with two opportunities for visitation: from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and then from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on October 31, 2025, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, starting at 10:15 AM.

Catherine A. Ciurleo will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will continue to inspire and nurture those she leaves behind.
