It is with great sadness that we announce that Beth Ramoutar, 81, of Deer Park, passed away on September 16th, 2026, leaving many heartbroken.
Beth was born on November 12th, 1944 to Bhagsarie Deonanan and Phagoo Kasie in Penal, Trinidad and Tobago. She was the youngest of six siblings. Beth was always surrounded by a large family, including many cousins, aunts and uncles, from a very young age.
In her early years, you could find Beth playing cricket, winning at marbles, or sitting beneath a big tree reading a book with a bowl of chow and her dog, Chandra, by her side. Her love of learning eventually led her to begin her career as a teacher in 1962. She taught at many schools including Ramai Trace Hindu School.
In 1965, Beth married Badal Ramoutar and in 1966, she became a mother to her oldest daughter, Rowan. She went on to have another daughter, Cheryl and two sons, Wren and Roddy by 1971.
In 1968, Beth and her husband made a brave decision to migrate to Montreal, Canada, in search of new opportunities for their family. In 1970, they moved to Long Island, New York, where they were eventually joined by the rest of their family. Beth went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ross Nursing Home, where she worked for 36 years. Caring for others came naturally for Beth, and throughout her career, she cared for countless residents with kindness, compassion and dignity. Beth worked tirelessly to ensure her family had the world and more.
Beth welcomed her son and daughter in laws, Rick, Magic, Ann and Seema, with loving arms and treated them as her own.
In 1993, Beth became a grandmother to her eldest granddaughter, Shanta. By 2014, she would become a grandmother of 6 : Brandon, Anjalee, Camryn, Ashton and Jayson. She loved and cared for her grandchildren deeply, who brought her tremendous joy. The love, lessons, and memories she gave them will remain with them throughout the rest of their lives.
Beth had many hobbies and an endless curiosity for the world around her. She loved tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, where she grew some of her favorites including cucumbers and pink peonies. She also grew hot peppers which she used to make her lime pepper sauce that she couldn’t do without. When she wasn’t in her garden, Beth could be found with a mystery or romance novel in her hands.
In 2011, Beth and her husband moved to Port St. Lucie, FL, where she met great friends. She enjoyed soaking in the Florida sunshine, maintaining her gardens, and watching the sunset over the lake with her husband.
Anyone who knew Beth knew her as a kind soul with a generous heart. She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, her strength, and above all, the love she had for her family. To say that she will be greatly missed by her family and friends is an understatement. The life she built and the love she gave will continue through every person fortunate enough to have known her.
Forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
