Cloe Gordon, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 90 in Coram, New York. Born on January 16, 1935, in the serene surroundings of the Demerara River in Guyana, Cloe journeyed through life with grace and dedicated her years to the well-being of others.
Cloe devoted a significant portion of her career to housekeeping at Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Her commitment to service and compassion for those around her reflected her kind-hearted nature and strong work ethic. She touched the lives of many during her tenure and was respected by both colleagues and those she served.
She is survived by her loving family, who will carry her memory forward. Her daughter, Christine Gordon-Hardy, and her husband Willie, along with her son, Neil Gordon, and his wife June, remember her as a source of unwavering support and wisdom. Cloe was a proud grandmother to Tyler, Dominique, Jackie, and Noah, and doted on her great-grandchildren Clyde, Rosalie, and Hezekiah. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the values she instilled in her family. Cloe is preceded in death by her parents, Rupert and Christina George, who instilled in her the sturdy principles by which she led her life. Their memory lives on in Cloe's children and grandchildren, who embody her warmth and strength.
Visitation services will be held at Gordon Heights 7TH Day Adventist Church, located at 21 Teller Ave, Coram, NY, on July 31, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow on August 1, 2025, at the same location, commencing at 10:00 AM and concluding at noon. Following the funeral service at church, family and friends will proceed to Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, where Cloe will be laid to rest.
Cloe Gordon’s life was marked by her devotion to family, her community, and her work, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
