Concetta E. Giordano (Connie), cherished mother, nana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Riverhead, NY, at the age of 76. Born on May 17, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a beacon of love, and unwavering faith, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and joyful memories.
She grew up in Brooklyn surrounded by her siblings, cousins, and forever friends. It was during these early years that she developed her deep appreciation for family traditions, her love of music, and a strong foundation of faith that would guide her throughout her life.
For nearly 54 wonderful years, Concetta was the beloved wife of John Giordano, who preceded her in death. Together, they worked hard to create a beautiful life centered on family, unconditional love, and shared dreams. Their home was a haven of good food, music, and tradition, where they hosted countless holidays with every detail carefully planned. They welcomed both of their mothers into their home, caring for them with devotion and endless compassion.
Concetta adored her husband and was endlessly proud of him. Their love was especially cherished in the quiet moments—boating on the water, swimming, enjoying sunsets together over the Long Island Sound, or stargazing on peaceful nights. She loved flowers, the beach, and vacations in Montauk, where memories were made.
A devoted Pre-K teacher, Concetta had a remarkable ability to make every child feel special. Her classroom was filled with warmth, structure, and joy, and her impact extended far beyond her students, touching colleagues and families alike. Her nurturing heart and infectious smile were hallmarks of her generous spirit.
Concetta’s faith was a guiding light in her life. She found comfort and strength in her daily prayers, regular attendance at Mass, and her deep devotion to the Blessed Mother. Her spirituality was quiet yet profound, radiating through her words and actions.
Her proudest accomplishments were her family. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Lisa (Allen) Wenturine and Christina Giordano, and her beloved grandsons, Christian and Hayden Wenturine, who were the absolute lights of her life. She is also survived by her loving sister, Maria (Guy Mangano) Fasulo, and devoted brother, Rocco (Bernice) Fasulo.
Concetta had a zest for life and embraced new adventures even later in life, finding joy and friendship in Zumba, yoga, and Tai Chi. She never missed a chance to reach out to others, whether through heartfelt handwritten notes or emoji-filled texts that made loved ones smile.
Her legacy is one of love, devotion, and beauty—in the family she raised, the students she inspired, and the lives she touched. Her spirit will forever live on in the sunsets she cherished, the songs she sang, and the hearts of all who knew and loved her.Family and friends are invited to celebrate Concetta’s life on May 15th and 16th at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead, NY, where visitation services will be held. A Mass in her honor will take place at St. Isidore's RC Church, a space where she felt deep peace and connection.
Concetta E. Giordano will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, proud nana, loyal sister, caring family member, and treasured friend. Her legacy of love, joy, and faith will continue to shine brightly in the memories of all who were blessed to know her.
