Denise R. Lewis

Denise R. Lewis, a beloved mother and cherished member of her community, passed away on November 30, 2025, in Riverhead, New York, at the age of 73. Born on October 22, 1952, in Bakersfield, California, Denise lived a life marked by service, love, and dedication to her family.

Denise proudly served in the Army from 1972 to 1975, embodying the values of commitment and bravery that defined her military experience. Following her time in the service, she dedicated herself to raising her four sons, imparting wisdom, strength, and compassion to each of them. Her legacy will live on through her sons: Kris, Matthew (Megan), Curtis, and Jolan, who remember her unwavering support and guidance.

Denise is predeceased by her husband, James Lewis, Jr., with whom she shared many cherished memories and experiences. Her family feels the profound loss of her warmth and love, which were always present in their lives.

A visitation in honor of Denise will be held on December 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY. Following the visitation, a prayer service will take place at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, allowing friends and family to come together in remembrance and celebration of her life. An interment is to follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.

Denise R. Lewis will always be remembered for her loving spirit, dedication to her family, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her memory will continue to illuminate the hearts of her loved ones, who were privileged to know her.
