Edith M. Walters

Edith M. Walters, born on June 8, 1935, passed away on July 22, 2026. Throughout her ninety-one years, Edith touched the lives of all who knew her with grace, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Edith was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Dietra and her husband Paul Achenbach, and Monika Walters, who will forever cherish her gentle guidance and love. Her family was always at the center of her world, and she found immense pride and joy in their accomplishments, supporting them in every aspect of their lives. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Paul and Devin, who fondly remember her warmth, wisdom, and heartfelt encouragement. Edith is predeceased by her husband, Richard D. Walters.

Throughout her life, Edith built a strong foundation of love and community among those fortunate enough to know her. Her quiet strength, compassion, and nurturing spirit will remain an inspiration to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of being part of her journey.

Family and friends are invited to honor Edith’s memory at a Memorial Visitation on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. Inurnment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn Road Wellwood Ave, Pinelawn, NY 11735, on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11:30 AM. 

Edith M. Walters will be remembered with deep affection and respect. Her legacy endures in the love she shared and the lives she touched.
