Edward J. Burke, III, passed away on October 30, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born on February 20, 1968, in Jamaica, Queens, and will be remembered as a man whose warmth, humor, and unmistakable personality left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.
Edward graduated from high school and carried through life a spirited nature that showed itself in the things he enjoyed most. He was known as a good cook, and he took pleasure in gathering with others and sharing the things he loved. He loved horror movies, fishing, fireworks, and heavy metal music. He enjoyed playing bocce ball and was a devoted fan of the New York Jets and the New York Rangers. At Christmas time, he brought special joy to his family by always dressing up as Santa, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. He also gave of himself to his community by coaching Deer Park Little League. Edward loved birds and remained especially close with his mother throughout his life. Among the many memories held dear is the love he had for Dio, his favorite dog, who had passed away. That bond reflects the affection and loyalty that were such natural parts of Edward’s life.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Burke. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Gina Vogler (Jerry), Jamie Pittelli (Ian), Jeanette Moyer (William); and by his brother, Steven Castellano (Jenn). Their lives were enriched by his presence, and his memory will remain a lasting part of their family story.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again that same day from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Mangano Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, NY 11729. A prayer service will be held during visitation at 8:00 PM.
Edward will be remembered for his big-hearted traditions, his loyalty to the people and teams he loved, and the joy he brought to family gatherings and everyday moments alike. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
