In loving memory of Effi Dimakos.

Effi Dimakos, a devoted wife, mother, yiayia, and friend, passed away on June 8, 2024. She was born on August 19, 1933, in Greece to her parents John and Stavroula Ladis. Effi touched the lives of many through her career in garments in New York, NY and her radiant personality that shone with kindness and care.

Effi cherished her family above all else, finding immense joy in the presence of her loved ones. Her bright smile and warm heart were constants that brought comfort to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kostas Dimakos; daughters Maria Dimakos and Stavroula (her husband Mike) Dimakos; grandsons Andrew and Dean. In this time of grief, may they find solace in the beautiful memories shared with Effi and take comfort in knowing she is watching over them with love.

A visitation to honor Effi's life will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on Thursday, June 13, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM. A burial will follow immediately after mass at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Effi Dimakos will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love she shared and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, located at 200 East Neck Road, West Babylon, NY 11704.
