Viggiano, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully departed this world July 21, 2025, at Good Samaritan Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. Born on December 21, 1945, in Manhattan , NY, Elaine's journey took her through a life filled with joy, compassion, and unforgettable experiences.
Elaine spent over sixty devoted years with her loving husband, Lawrence. Together, they built a life rich with memories, laughter, and unwavering support. Their partnership was a shining example of true love, embodying the strength and dedication that inspired many around them.
As a proud grandmother, Elaine took immense delight in her grandchildren, Alexis and Richie Blumengold. They were her world, the light in her days and the reason for her smiles. Her nurturing spirit and boundless affection created an environment where her grandchildren thrived, forever cherishing the countless moments spent together—moments filled with laughter, storytelling, and lessons that would guide them throughout their lives.
Professionally, Elaine made her mark as an Assistant Branch Manager with H.S.B.C. in Commack, NY, where she was respected by her colleagues and loved by her customers. However, her greatest achievements were not measured by titles or accolades but by the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Elaine was known as the greatest woman in the world—she enjoyed every moment of life and would do anything for anyone in need. Her heart was vast, her spirit contagious, and her laughter could lighten even the heaviest of hearts.
Elaine had a zest for life that was truly inspiring. She took 33 cruises, exploring the beauty of the world while creating lifetime memories across seas and shores. Additionally, her love for the excitement of the casino brought thrill and sweetness to her life, showcasing her fun-loving personality and her ability to seize every opportunity for joy.
Elaine joins her beloved parents, Frank and Josephine Pitagna, in eternal rest, leaving a void that will be deeply felt by her living family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence; her loving daughter, Doreen (Rich) Blumengold, and cherished grandchildren Alexis, and Richie Blumengold; and a multitude of friends who were touched by her generosity and spirit.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elaine’s remarkable life at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY. Visitation will be held on July 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A mass of Christian burial will take place on July 24, 2025, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, starting at 10:15 AM, followed by her burial at Saint Charles Cemetery, East Farmingdale.
Elaine's legacy will forever be remembered in the warm embraces of her family and the countless lives she touched with her boundless enthusiasm for life. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her. Forever remembered, forever missed.
