Elgie "Terry" Hayes Lutes, a beloved husband, father, and military veteran, passed away on May 6, 2024, in Riverhead, NY. He was born on October 1, 1943, in Roswell, NM.

Elgie had a distinguished career serving in the United States Air Force for 20 years and retired at the rank of Lt. Col. His dedication and commitment to his country were evident throughout his service. A man of great accomplishments, Elgie held a Bachelor's degree in his educational journey. His passion for learning and serving his community left a lasting impact on all who knew him

He is survived by his loving wife Virginia C. Lutes, devoted daughter Christine (David) Finamore, grandchildren Carli and Jake, as well as his brothers David and John Lutes. Elgie was predeceased by his parents Elgie and Phyllis Lutes.

The funeral service to honor and celebrate Elgie's life will take place at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY, on May 14, 2024. The burial ceremony will commence at 11:00 AM.
