Frank V. Agoglia, a proud World War II Normandy Invasion Veteran and retired N.Y.C. Police Detective, passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 101. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 2, 1923, Frank was the cherished son of the Late Vincenzo and the Late Rose Agoglia.

Frank was one of eleven children. He had six brothers, John, Rocco, Vincent, Joseph, Anthony, and Raymond and four sisters, Antoinette, Carmela, Theresa, and Rosemarie all who predeceased Frank.

Notably, six Agoglia brothers all fought in WWII, and amazingly all made it home.

After his time in the service, Frank joined the NYPD in 1947 first as a patrolman, then working under the Chief of Detectives and the Chief of Operations at Police Headquarters. He retired in 1980.

Frank married the love of his life, Lorraine Znaniecki, on October 9, 1948. They were married for 53 years until her sad passing on September 1, 2001.

Frank is lovingly remembered by his family, including his children Barbara and her late husband Ralph Russo, Judy Agoglia, Susan and her husband Dominick Pombano, and Thomas and his wife Lisa Agoglia. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Nicholas and his wife Christine, Lisa, Jennele and her husband Chuck, Elisha and her husband Wes, Kelly and her husband Ryan, Michelle and her husband Stuart, Tommy and his wife Danielle, Matthew, Kevin, Damon, and Alex.

He is also survived by his twelve great grandchildren: Danny, Ellie, Nicky, Ethan, Evan, Sawyer, Finnegan, Lucy, Olivia, Sophia, Alexa, and Dominick.

All will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Frank V. Agoglia's legacy of service and love will continue to inspire those who knew him, reminding all of the values of bravery, compassion, and familial bonds that he embodied throughout his remarkable life.
