Gabriele Cafisi

Gabriele Cafisi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of the Dix Hills community, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on September 21, 1950, in Sicily, Italy, Gabriele arrived in the United States with a strong work ethic and a dedication to providing for his family.

For many years, Gabriele served as a Maintenance Man at a local boarding school, where he was known not only for his skills but also for his kind heart and helpful nature. His commitment to his work and the school's mission left a lasting impact on the staff and students alike, illustrating his belief in the importance of education and care for young minds.

Gabriele is survived by his loving wife Vita, and his two sons, Salvatore (Melissa) and Daniele (Christina). He was a proud grandfather to Angelina, Salvatore Jr., Rosaria, and Daniele. Gabriele's family was the center of his universe, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Sadly, he was predeceased by his son, the Late Sabino, whose memory will forever remain an integral part of Gabriele's legacy.

Visitation services will be held on October 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. Mass and entombment times are pending.

Gabriele will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he bestowed upon his family and friends. His spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
