GJ A. Kouril

Gary A. Kouril, known to many as GJ, passed away suddenly on May 24, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on February 21, 1970, GJ was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle whose presence touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a proud resident of Cortland, NY, having formerly called Huntington, NY, his home.

GJ is deeply mourned by his loving wife, Katherine, and their cherished son, Jack. He was a son-in-law to John Wagner, and he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Patricia Wagner. GJ’s family roots extended to his beloved mother, Maureen C. McLoughlin and predeceased by his father Gary Kouril, and he is remembered fondly by his siblings: Kelly Klinkenberg (Charles), Tammy Alario (Daniel), and Courtney DeRosa (Anthony). He was also a treasured uncle to many nephews and nieces, who grieve his passing alongside his immediate family.

A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate the life of GJ will be held on June 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. Friends and family are invited to come together in remembrance of his life and legacy.
