Gene Elizabeth Goodale

Gene E. Goodale, 100, of Riverhead, NY, passed away on January 19, 2026 in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

Born on May 17, 1925 in Riverhead to Arthur Milton Tyte, Jr. and Marion Elizabeth Downs. Gene lived a life full of love, faith, wisdom, family and friends.

She was a devoted wife, sister, mother and friend. 

Gene is survived by her children: Noel (Jim), Harold Jr. ''Bo'' (Penny), Barbara, June (Rick) and Holly (Loren ''Skee'') and her siblings Elinor Lindsay, Bruce Tyte, and Gail Yeager.

Gene had 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband of 70 years, Harold E. Goodale, Sr., siblings and grandchildren. 

A celebration of life will be held on March 14th at Tuthill-Mangano in Riverhead between 10:00AM-12:00PM. Gene will then be moved to Old Steeple Church in Aquebogue for a service that will be at 12:30, after service she will be laid to rest across the street in Old Steeple Cemetery. A time of fellowship will be held directly after at Luce Fellowship Hall in the church's basement. All are welcome to attend.
