George Joseph Washington

George Joseph Washington, born on August 10, 1931, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in Riverhead, New York. He lived a life marked by dedication and service, not only to his family but also to his country, having served honorably in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

George's legacy is carried on by his son, Gary Washington, and his daughter-in-law, Mindy. He was predeceased by beloved family members who shaped his life and character, including his wife, Elaine Washington; his son, Thomas Washington; his father, George Washington; and his mother, Dora DuBois.

The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate George's life during the visitation services at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901. Visitation will be held on June 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, with an additional visitation in the evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

A prayer service will take place the following day, June 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location. George will then be laid to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park, with a graveside ceremony starting at 12:30 PM.

George Joseph Washington will be remembered for his strength, love for his family, and unwavering commitment to his values. His memory will continue to live on through the stories shared and the lives he touched.
