Gerard G. Figgiani passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on January 27, 1935, to his parents Paul and Anna Figgiani and the beloved husband to his late wife Tina Figgiani , he will be remembered with deep love by those who knew him best.
To his family, Gerard was affectionately known as “Papa Goo Goo,” a name that speaks to the warmth, closeness, and lasting bond he shared with the generations of his family. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in that love and in the many cherished connections that surrounded him throughout his life.
He is survived by his children, Gerard (Jerry) Figgiani and his wife Annette, Gail Vasta and her husband John , and Steven Figgiani and his wife Beth. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Alyssa, Daniel, Scott, Deanna, Taylor, Ryan, and Thomas, his great-grandchildren, Carmine , Madelyn, Greyson and Every. His family and friends carries forward memories of Gerard, and of the special place he held in their lives and hearts.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc., 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729, on August 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 29, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729. Those wishing to attend the funeral are asked to meet at the funeral home by 8:15 a.m. Burial will follow the Mass at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
Gerard G. Figgiani will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
