Henrietta Costa

With tender hearts and loving memories, we announce the passing of Henrietta Costa on July 17, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on June 30, 1937, Henrietta’s life was distinguished by quiet strength, compassion, and a deep devotion to her cherished family.

The heart of Henrietta’s life was her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Costa (2019), whose memory she held close throughout her days. Their partnership was a testament to lasting love and mutual respect, and together, they built a legacy of affection and togetherness. Henrietta’s spirit lives on in those who survive her— Joseph "Rocky" Costa and his wife Denise (Son), Jodie Ruszkowski (Daughter), Joetta Williamson (Daughter), and her five grandchildren. 

To those she leaves behind, Henrietta is remembered as the steady hand, the thoughtful friend, and the patient ear. Her legacy is found in the lives she shaped and the love she so freely gave. She leaves behind a tapestry of treasured moments and loving memories that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends will gather to honor Henrietta’s life at two visitations on July 21, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and again from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., both at Mangano Family Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. A Mass will be held at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729, on July 22, 2026, with the time to be announced. Henrietta will be laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933-1031.

Henrietta Costa’s life was a gift to all who knew her—one marked by love, resilience, and an ever-present embrace that will be desperately missed yet fondly remembered by all whose hearts she touched.
