Joan Della Rocca

Joan Della Rocca, née Hasselberger  born in Queens, NY, passed away peacefully at her home in Yaphank on June 15th, 2023. She was 88 years old.

Joan was born on November 29th, 1934 and grew up in Queens, where she developed her love for life and family. She attended local schools and excelled academically and socially. Her sharp wit and magnetic personality drew people to her and she made lifelong friends wherever she went.

Joan married the love of her life, John Della Rocca. They were inseparable and spent over six decades building a life together filled with laughter, joy, and adventure. Together they raised three children: The late Robert(Maureen), Michael (Jeryl), and John (Nancy). Joan was a devoted mother who instilled in her children the values of family, hard work, and kindness.

Joan's compassion knew no bounds. She had a heart for helping others in need - be it a neighbor or a stranger - Joan always found a way to help out. She touched many lives through her kindness and generosity.

Joan is survived by her sons Michael (Jeryl) Della Rocca and John (Nancy) Della Rocca, and her daughter-in-law Maureen.  Loving grandchildren: John, Nick, Justin, Michael, Tanner and Calista, Adorded great grandchildren Luke, Scarlet, Dylan, Riley and Alex.  She will also be missed dearly by her extended family and all who knew her.

Joan Della Rocca was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished friend, and compassionate soul. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who were blessed by her presence. May she rest in peace knowing the profound impact she has made on the world around her.
