Joan M. Fleischman

Joan M. Fleischman of Riverhead passed away on June 05, 2025. She was 92. Born on Oct 15, 1932, in Riverhead to Grace Madlyne (Peterson) and John C Seaman.

Joan graduated Riverhead High School in 1950 and married Russell A. Fleischman Sr. on November 21, 1951. Together they had three children.

She spent her time knitting and crocheting as well as traveling. One of Joan’s favorite trips was going cross country in 1993 with her husband. Joan went on many trips with the Riverhead Fire Department and cruising with her beloved family. Joan often enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren and volunteering her time with the Alley Cat Thrift Shop located at The First Congregational Church. She was a 67 yr member and past president of the Riverhead Fire Department Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and baseball games in the evening.

She retired in 1993 from Riverhead Central School District where she worked as a teachers aide at Roanoke Ave Elementary School.

Joan is now reunited with her husband Russell, her sons Russell Jr and Karl and brother John (Jack) Seaman. Joan is survived  by her daughter and son in law Joan and Bob Andruszkiewicz, granddaughter Kara Paulos (David), grandsons Kevin and Tim Andruszkiewicz, great grandchildren Aiden and Ella, niece Cheryl Mullins and nephew Dr Jeffrey Seaman. 

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to East End Hospice and First Congregational Church of Riverhead.
