Joan Remson Etersque, born on November 27, 1934, left this world on July 10, 2026. Her passing marks the end of a remarkable life. While our hearts are still broken, we take comfort in knowing that she lived a life filled with laughter, resilience, friendship, and unwavering love for her family.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Etersque, and later by Robert Remson, who was also a cherished part of her life. Each shared an important part of her life, and she carried the memories of both with her always. Joan is survived by her sister Anna Marie Epling. Her legacy lives on in her children: JoanAnn and her husband Jim LoRusso, Anthony and his wife Suzanne Etersque, Michael and his wife Joan Etersque, and Susan and her husband Michael Prescia. Her stepdaughters Kathleen Remson and Francine DeVito and her husband Joe. The family she cherished stands as her greatest accomplishment, a living reminder that a life filled with love continues through the generations it touches.
Her influence echoes in her nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Nothing brought Joan greater happiness than being surrounded by her loved ones, her presence at family gatherings ensuring that laughter, stories, and wisdom were always in abundance.
If you knew Joan, you knew she had a zest for life. She was independent, quick-witted, and always ready with a sarcastic remark or an unforgettable one-liner. She loved poker nights and casino games and spending time with friends, always up for a good time and lots of laughs.
Joan's faith was quiet but steadfast. She didn't need to make a show of it- she lived it through her generosity, her strength, and the way she cared for the people she loved, and her faith in Jesus Christ.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to honor Joan’s memory and say their farewells during visitation on July 24, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter. Joan was a proud supporter of St Jude's and an animal lover. She especially loved cats and was considered a "Crazy Cat Lady" - supporting animals would have brought a smile to her face.
