Joann Malec

Joann Malec, a beloved member of the community and a dedicated Property Manager for Town Realty, passed away on November 28, 2023, in Islip, New York. She was born on April 25, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York.

Joann had a passion for her career and truly excelled as a Property Manager. Her commitment to her work was evident in her relationships with both tenants and colleagues. Joann's professional demeanor and attention to detail made her an invaluable asset.

Outside of work, Joann was known for her warm and inviting nature. She had a genuine love for people and approached every interaction with kindness and compassion. Her ability to make others feel comfortable and valued was unmatched.

On December 2, 2023, friends and loved ones will gather at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home located at 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729, for a Visitation event from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Cremation will be private.

Joann leaves behind a rich legacy of love and memories. She is survived by her daughter Donna Dodenhoff (her husband Willi), and her son Paul Malec. Joann is also a devoted grandmother of Dean, Valerie, and Shannon, and great-grandmother of Cody and Emma. Additionally, she is preceded in death by her daughter Denise Ruiz, her father Ralph Porretti, and her mother Lucy Porretti.

As we mourn the loss of Joann Malec, let us remember the joy she brought to our lives. Her spirit will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
