John J. Sterzenbach, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away at the age of 82 on May 1, 2025, in Westhampton, New York. He was born on June 9, 1942, in Riverhead, New York, and spent his life making a meaningful impact on those around him.
John was a devoted partner to Carol Bauhs, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He cherished his roles as a father and grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and guidance for his daughter, Christine Moultire (Greg), and his son, Terrance McCloskey (Lynn). His grandchildren, John, Kylie, Jessica, Jacob, and Christin were sources of immense joy in his life, and he took great pride in the accomplishments of each of them. Additionally, he was blessed with ten great-grandchildren, who brought endless delight to his heart.
John’s family tree included his brother, Barry Naber, with whom he shared countless memories and experiences that will be treasured forever. He was predeceased by his parents, John Jacob Sterzenbach and Marie Whittington, whose love and values shaped the man he became.
