Joseph A. Costa

Joseph A. Costa, a beloved and devoted man, passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2023 at the age of 92. He was a retired union delegate for the painters union #486 in East Islip, NY and served his community with unwavering loyalty.

Born on October 1st, 1930 in New York, New York to Anthony and Angelina Costa; he attended high school and received his diploma. Mr. Costa honorably served in the Army from 1951 to 1953.

Mr. Costa is remembered by all that knew him as a caring, outgoing, and compassionate individual. Those who came in contact with him were greeted warmly by his ever-present smile and kind heart.

He leaves behind his loving wife Virginia (Nee: Cozzolino) Costa, daughter Renee Costa, daughter Jolie (Steven) Gottlieb, his grandchildren Vanessa (Michael) DelVecchio, and Bianca, and his great-grandchildren Ellora, and Jack. He will be dearly missed by his surviving family members.

A visitation will be held in honor of Mr. Costa at Deer Park- Mangano Family Funeral Home on Wednesday June 15th starting at 10 am and will end at 11 am. A graveside service will follow shortly after at Saint Charles Cemetery. All are welcome to attend.

The loss of such a treasured individual like Mr. Costa leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Although he is no longer with us, his memory lives on through the love he instilled in those around him.
