Joseph Desio, born on October 2, 1931, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026. His life was marked by devotion to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, with whom he shared many cherished years. Together, they raised a devoted family, including their daughter Diana Desio, and sons Robert, who is married to Noreen, and John, who is married to Stephanie. Also surviving him is their daughter Karen, married to David Bell. Joseph's love extended to his seven grandchildren, who brought joy and pride to his life.
The family will gather to honor Joseph’s memory during a visitation on May 14, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, located at 406 E Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901. A second visitation will be held on May 15, 2026, from 8:15 AM to 8:45 AM at the same location.
A Mass to celebrate Joseph’s life will take place at Saint John the Evangelist in Riverhead on May 15, 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM, with the service concluding at approximately 9:45 AM. Following the Mass, Joseph will be laid to rest with full honors at Calverton National Cemetery, located at 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933-1031, with burial ceremonies commencing at 10:45 AM.
Joseph’s dignified presence and enduring love for his family have left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered with great respect and affection by his wife Carol, his children Diana, Robert, John, and Karen, their spouses, and his treasured grandchildren.
The family welcomes all who wish to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Joseph Desio during these services, as they say farewell to a man whose memory will forever inspire warmth and respect.
