Joseph Peter Lebkuecher, Jr.

Joseph Peter Lebkuecher, Jr., a cherished member of the Riverhead community, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 4, 1936, Joseph lived a life dedicated to nurturing both plants and family.

Joseph’s career was rooted in his work at North Fork Nursery, where he showcased his passion for horticulture. Through his dedication and expertise, he contributed to the beauty of many gardens and landscapes, leaving a lasting mark in the community he loved.

He is survived by his beloved sons, Joseph Peter Lebkuecher III (Katherine) and James P. Lebkuecher. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Roy (Caralee), Harry, and Charles, as well as his great-granddaughter, Kit Ellen. Each of them carries forward the values and warmth that Joseph imparted throughout his life.

Joseph was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Barbara Ann Lebkuecher, whose love and partnership were integral to his life journey.

Visitation services will be held at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead, NY, on November 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Joseph will be laid to rest at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY, on November 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Joseph Peter Lebkuecher, Jr. will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering dedication to his work and family, and the love he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
