Joseph Mitola

Joseph Mitola, a beloved family man and esteemed professional, passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 97 in South Setauket, New York. He was born on March 27, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, where he spent his formative years.

Joseph proudly served his country as an Army Veteran, participating in both World War II and the Korean War. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant for RUCO Polymer Corp in Plainview, New York. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and community.  Joseph earned a Bachelor's degree, which laid the foundation for his professional achievements and served to inspire those around him. His approach to life was characterized by diligence and integrity, qualities that were evident in both his career and his relationships.

He is survived by his loving family, including his son Joseph G. Mitola, daughters Jill Mitola and Kim Mitola, three cherished grandchildren, and eight adoring great-grandchildren. These family members were a source of pride and joy throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Mitola and his mother, Isabell Bluff. Joseph's legacy will undoubtedly live on through the impact he made in the lives of those who knew him and loved him.
