Josephine Ann Rosenberg, passed peacefully on July 14, 2025. Born Josephine Silano on June 7, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, she was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. With strength and grace, she lived a life marked by love, resilience, and a deep commitment to her family.
Josephine was the cherished matriarch of her family. She is survived by her devoted sons, Louis, Ralph (Christie), and John (Lisa), as well as her beloved daughter, Joanne (Andrew) Goldstein. The laughter and joy that filled her home can be found in the hearts of her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the greatest treasures in her life. Each one of them held a special place in her heart, carrying forward the love and warmth she so generously shared.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2022. Their bond was a testament to what true love looks like, and even in his absence, she held him in her heart with every beat. Together, they crafted a beautiful life filled with memories that will live on through their children and grandchildren.
A Mass will be held in her honor at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church in Deer Park, NY, on July 18, 2025, beginning at 10:15 AM, followed by her burial at St. John Cemetery in Middle Village at 1:00 PM.
Though the world now feels a little dimmer without her radiant presence, Josephine Ann Rosenberg’s legacy of love, kindness, and family will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
