Juan T. Rivera, born on November 27, 1949, to his parents Juan and Felicita, passed away on July 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by devotion to family, distinguished military service, and a lifetime of integrity.
Juan’s journey through life was one of quiet strength and steadfast purpose. With pride, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. His commitment to duty, honor, and excellence was evident in all that he did, earning the respect of his peers and shaping the example for those who followed him.
In addition to his accomplished military career, Juan furthered his education and earned an Associates Degree, underscoring his dedication to lifelong learning and self-betterment.
At the heart of Juan’s life were the loved ones who survive him and whose lives he so deeply touched. He is survived by Mildred Rivera, his devoted wife; his daughters, Joann and Katherine; his sons-in-law, Ryan Howell and Timothy Gruenberg; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph, Cole, and Dylan. To each of them, Juan was a source of unwavering support, wisdom, and love. His commitment to family was a guiding force throughout his years, providing comfort and a foundation of strength during times of both joy and challenge.
Throughout his life, Juan was known for his humility and grace. He built a reputation within his community and among friends as a reliable and generous individual, always ready to lend a hand or offer words of encouragement. Whether through his service to his country or his enduring care for his family, Juan leaves behind a legacy of kindness and duty.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitations on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Deer Park – Mangano Family Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal R.C. Church, Wyandanch, NY 11798 on Monday, July 13, 2026, pending time. Juan will be laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933.
Juan T. Rivera’s presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the values he embodied will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
