It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Keith A. Scudder, who departed this life on June 19, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on November 16, 1951, in Huntington, New York, Keith’s journey through life was marked by devotion to his loved ones and an enduring presence in the hearts of those who knew him.
Keith’s memory will be most vibrantly kept alive by his surviving family. Left to honor him are his three children: Lisa, Bryan (Danielle), and Samantha (Thomas). He also leaves behind 5 adored grandchildren: Brett, Manny, Damian, Evan, and Nicoletta, and his cherished brother, Ricky. Each individual carries forward the values, stories, and love that Keith shared so generously throughout his life. Keith is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Burdge and Veronica.
Keith had very many hobbies and interests, such as cars, classic cars and car racing, boating, playing guitar, watching the New York Islanders, and making everybody around him laugh without fail. He enjoyed spending time at the Riverhead Raceway, or working on classic cars, his favorite being a 1969 Chevy Nomad. He too enjoyed his pool, something he took great pride in and maintained very well. Keith, known by family as "Buster", was best known for being a happy soul and consistently making others laugh, spreading his good mood to everyone around him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729, on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. and again from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the same location on June 22, beginning at 3:00 p.m., allowing all who knew and loved Keith an opportunity to commemorate his life. The final entombment will take place at Washington Memorial Park, 855 Canal Road, Mount Sinai, NY 11766, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
While words cannot fully express the loss felt by Keith’s passing, his legacy endures through the love he shared and the lives he influenced. His spirit will continue to inspire his family and all who had the honor of knowing him.
