Laura M. Neglia, 88, of Deer Park, New York, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 14, 2025. Born on July 7, 1937, Laura was the cherished "baby" of the family, a title she held throughout her life.
A devoted resident of Deer Park for 64 years, Laura and her husband, Ralph, built a community of neighbors who in time became treasured "Family" on their street. She held a special place in her heart for New York City, where she was raised, maintaining friendships from as far back as the third grade until her passing. Though she was not blessed with children of her own, she was a central figure in the lives of her loved ones, serving as a beloved Aunt, Sister, Wife, Niece, Daughter, Sister-in-Law, and Godmother.
Laura is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Neglia, affectionately known as "Blue Eyes"; her parents, Frank and Laura (Calabrese) Sottile; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her eldest sister, Dolores DiCerto, and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Despite dealing with dementia in recent years, Laura received her wish to pass away peacefully in her sleep. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Ralph in Heaven, and is finally at peace. We will miss her deeply.
