Leslie Joseph Chin, Sr.

Leslie Joseph Chin, Sr., was born on January 5, 1936, in Jamaica, West Indies, and died on July 19, 2026 in Miami, Florida. He emigrated to the United States from the island of Jamaica. He was a wicker furniture warehouse supervisor for over thirty years, before his retirement.  He will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family he cherished.

A devoted fan of soccer throughout his life, Leslie found great joy in the game in every form. He loved soccer, watching it, playing it, and coaching it. That lasting enthusiasm was a meaningful part of who he was and brought energy and enjoyment to his life.

Leslie’s memory lives on in his children: his son, Leslie Joseph Chin, Jr. (Lee); his daughter, Antonette Garris; his daughter, Tracey Ann Chin; and his son, Matthew Chin. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Eric Garris, Taylor Garris, and MayLee Chin. May they carry forward the love, memories, and enduring presence of their father in the years ahead.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on October 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. A prayer service will be held there the same day from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Leslie Joseph Chin, Sr. will be remembered with respect, affection, and gratitude for the life he lived.
