Lewis proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his country and fellow servicemen. His military service was a testament to his bravery and sense of duty.

Lewis had an exceptional talent for creating memorable dining experiences that satisfied the palates of countless patrons. Lewis was also a loving father to Jennifer Biasotti and stepfather to Denise Cali and Anthony & Christopher Vilkauskas.  Lewis and his beloved sister, Linda McCartney shared many memories growing up and had an inseperable bond. He cherished their presence in his life and always prioritized their happiness and well-being. The love Lewis had for his eight grandchildren knew no bounds, bringing joy to their lives through moments of playfulness, wisdom, and unconditional love. His eight grandchildren held a special place in his heart, reminding him of the legacy he was leaving behind.

A visitation in remembrance of Lewis A. Welsh will take place on October 29, 2023, at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901, United States. The visitation will begin at 2:00 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM.  Burial will take place at Calverton National Cemetery on Monday, October 30, 2023.
