Lucille Adams

Lucille Adams, a beloved member of her family, passed away on May 10, 2025, in Stony Brook, NY, at the age of 88. Born on February 22, 1937, in Guyana, Lucille was a dedicated individual whose warm spirit and hard work touched the lives of many. She spent much of her career serving as a housekeeper at Stony Brook University Hospital, where her commitment to service was evident in the care and attention she provided.

Lucille's life was rich with family and love. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Adams and Linden Adams, who carry on her legacy of devotion. Her grandchildren—Teshenna (Anthony) Adams, Sydney Adams, Jocelyn Adams, Ashley (Harvey) Hoepe, and Tatiana Adams—cherish the memories they shared with her, and her great-grandchild, Ivy Jean Jacques, will also forever hold her in their heart. She was a devoted sister to Chloe Gordon, who, alongside Lucille’s children and grandchildren, will greatly miss her presence and guidance.

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Rupert George and Christina Adams, whose influence shaped the person she became. 

Visitation will be held on May 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953.  The following day, Thursday, May 11, 2025, a funeral service will be held in Lucille's honor at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Coram, NY, beginning at 11:30AM. 

Lucille Adams will be remembered not only for her kindness and strength but also for the enduring legacy she leaves behind in her family. She will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
