Luz Pabon

Luz Pabon, a beacon of love and light, passed away on November 2, 2025, in Brentwood, New York, at the age of 92. Born on January 30, 1933, in Puerto Rico, Luz's life was a testament to the power of resilience and the warmth of compassion. As a two-time cancer survivor, she embodied strength and the ability to endure through life's greatest challenges, serving as an unwavering matriarch to her family.

Luz's open door and open heart policy welcomed everyone into her life. She had an extraordinary knack for making everyone feel cherished and valued. Her joyful spirit and warm demeanor were not just a characteristic but a way of life, evident in the countless meals she prepared, especially for her adoring grandchildren. Cooking was not merely a hobby for Luz; it was a love language she spoke fluently, nourishing both body and soul.

An avid lover of flowers, Luz had a green thumb that turned her garden into a vibrant sanctuary, a reflection of her own joyous spirit. She was a peacemaker and a totem for her family, embodying love and unity within their lives. Her influence extended beyond her immediate family; she was a friend to many and often the first to lend a helping hand or an understanding ear.

Luz is survived by her loving daughters, Lucy Kearley (James) and Linda Saginario (Late Robert) and her loving sons, Rene Pabon and Angelo Gonzales, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts as they navigate life without her physical presence. The joy of her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Carrie-Ann, Bobby (Dulcina), Lauren, Briana (Alley), Becky (Mikey), Tonio, Joey, and Lexi. Luz was also a proud great-grandparent to Joseph, John-Michael, Matthew, Brenden, Tre, Adan, and Amor, who brought her immense joy and purpose.  She was predeceased by her devoted husband Rene.  Luz was also preceded in death by one brother, who surely welcomed her with open arms. She also shared a special bond with her sister, continuing a legacy of love and sisterhood that will resonate through generations.

The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Luz's life and legacy with visitation on November 5, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Pk Ave, Deer Park, NY.
